Ranch Mashed Potatoes

These potatoes use ranch dressing instead of milk for extra flavor.
3 pounds potato(es), russet
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper, black, ground
1/2 cup ranch dressing, light or reduced fat
2 tablespoons butter
4 green onion(s) , chopped
Peel and cut potatoes into 1 inch cubes. Place potatoes in a large pot and fill with water to just cover. Bring to a boil over medium high heat. Cook for 7 to 10 minutes until potatoes are fork tender. Drain water. Mash potatoes with a fork or potato masher. Add remaining ingredients except for green onions. Mix with a mixer for smoother potatoes. Stir in chopped green onions and serve.
