Slow Cooker Hoisin Beef Ribs
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 3 1/2 to 4 hours on high, or 1 hour on high and 6 hours on low
These are so tender in the slow cooker, and have a sweet, salty, and savory Asian sauce. High in fat levels, so eat moderately!
2 1/2 pounds beef ribs, lean, fat trimmed
1/3 cup Hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon mustard
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon soy sauce, low sodium
2 teaspoons sesame oil, dark
2 tablespoons honey
Mix Hoisin, mustard, ketchup, soy, honey and sesame oil in a small bowl. Use half of the sauce to lightly coat the ribs and reserve the rest for serving at the table. Place coated ribs in the slow cooker and cover. Cook for 3 1/2 to 4 hours on high or 1 hour on high then on low for about 6 hours. Heat the reserved sauce in the microwave for about 30 seconds, brush over the ribs and serve. You could also cook these on a baking sheet in the oven at 325 degrees F for 1 to 1 and a half hours until tender.
