Comments

Super easy, this recipe uses ready to bake noodles. All you have to cook is the sausage and meat and then just layer everything in the slowcooker.

Ingredients

6 cups marinara sauce, already prepared, jar or deli

1/2 pound sausage, turkey

1 pound ground beef, extra lean

1/2 onion(s), medium, finely chopped

1 1/2 cups ricotta cheese, low fat

1 1/2 cups cheese, mozzarella, low moisture and part skim milk, shredded

1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated

10 lasagna noodles, oven-ready, about half a box

Preparation

Heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Remove sausage from casings and cook with ground beef, breaking up into small pieces. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes until browned. Pour a small layer of marinara on the bottom of the slow cooker. Place a layer of lasagna noodles on top of the marinara, breaking them to fit if necessary. Add a layer of meat, then marinara, then dollops of ricotta cheese and mozzarella. repeat with two more layers, reserving a half cup of mozzarella and the parmesan for topping at the end of the cooking process. Cover and cook on the low setting for 4 to 4 1/2 hours until noodles are soft and cooked through. Top with remaining mozzarella and parmesan and keep on low setting for 5 minutes until cheese melts.
