Parmesan Mashed Potatoes

Parmesan adds salt to these potatoes, so taste before adding salt and pepper.
2 pounds potato(es), russet
1/4 cup milk, 1% fat
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup parmesan cheese, shredded
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon pepper, black, ground
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 green onion(s)
Peel and cut potatoes. Place in a large sauce pan and cover with water. Bring water to a boil over high heat and then reduce to medium. Simmer and cook potatoes for about 6 or 7 minutes until fork tender. Drain water and remove potatoes to a mixing bowl. Add milk, butter, garlic powder and butter and mash with a hand masher or a mixer. Add parmesan cheese and mix in with a spoon. Top with chopped green onions.
