BBQ Baby Back Pork Ribs
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 2 hours in oven or about 8 hours in slow cooker
Ribs are high in fat, and barbeque sauce high in sugar, so save these for special occasions. These ribs are very tender and moist.
2 pounds pork ribs, baby back
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon pepper, black, ground
1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper
To cook in conventional oven: Cut the ribs into slabs of about 6-7 ribs. Place each slab on a piece of foil with the bone side down. Sprinkle top side with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Wrap in foil and place on baking sheet. Place all ribs on the baking sheet, but do not stack them. Place in a 300 degrees oven for 1 hour and 45 minutes. When the ribs have finished cooking, remove from foil. Drain and discard foil. Place ribs back on the baking sheet and brush BBQ sauce over the ribs. At this point you can either cook them on an outside grill to brown, or broil in the oven for approximately 3-5 minutes until sauce begins to bubble. For Slow Cooker: Cut ribs into 6-7 inch slabs. Season with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Place in bottom of slow cooker and cook on low for 8 hours. Remove ribs from slow cooker. Place ribs on a baking sheet, brush with BBQ sauce and broil for about 3-5 minutes until sauce is bubbly. Or you could place them on an outside grill for a couple of minutes on each side until browned and crisp.
