Comments

If you don't have the time or desire to grill the pears, they are equally good tossed into the salad ungrilled.

Ingredients

5 ounces arugula

1/2 cup nuts, walnuts, chopped

1 pear, bosque or other

1 teaspoon lemon(s), juice

1/4 cup pear nectar

2 tablespoons vinegar, red wine or cider

2 tablespoons olive oil, extra virgin

2 teaspoons honey

2 green onion(s) , minced

1/4 cup gorgonzola cheese, crumbled

1/8 teaspoon pepper, black, ground

1/8 teaspoon salt

Preparation

Preheat grill or grill pan to medium high heat. To make the dressing, whisk together the pear nectar, red wine vinegar, olive oil, honey, green onion, gorgonzola, salt and pepper. To grill the pears, slice and drizzle with lemon juice. Grill on a completely preheated grill for about 1 minute per side careful to simply sear and not cook the pears through. Toast the nuts on the grill for about 2 minutes by placing them in a foil boat (a sheet of foil with all sides rolled up about two folds). Stir and watch carefully. Cut the pear into bite sized pieces. Top salad with pears, nuts and dressing and toss. Serve.
