Comments

This makes a great main dish or appetizers.

Ingredients

1 puff pastry sheet(s)

6 ounce(s) ham, sliced

4 ounce(s) cheese, Swiss

1 tablespoon(s) Dijon mustard

1 egg(s), large

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Thaw the puff pastry sheet. Place a piece of parchment paper on a baking sheet. Place the puff pastry on the baking sheet. Slightly roll it out to 10 by 12 inches. Cut the pastry sheet in half lengthwise. Brush one piece of pastry with the Dijon mustard, leaving about a half inch border on all sides. Place the ham and cheese on top of the mustard. Beat the egg and brush the edge of the pastry with the egg. Place the other half of the pastry sheet on top and press the edges together, sealing and crimping the edges with a fork all the way around. Make three small slits on the top to allow the steam to escape while baking. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow to rest for about 5 minutes before slicing. Serves 4 as a main dish, or 8 as an appetizer.
