Fresh Fruit Trifle

This is a pretty and delicious fresh dessert that is perfect for a party or gathering. You could also use pound cake for this, but the fat and calories will be higher. Also, a little liquor drizzled over the layers of cake is great for a more adult version.
1 cake, angel food, 9 inch diameter, or other cake
12 ounce(s) light whipped topping,(such as Lite Cool Whip)
2 cups sour cream, low fat or light
1 small package pudding, dry mix, vanilla, instant
2 pint strawberries, fresh
1 pint blackberries, fresh
Thaw the cool whip and place in a large bowl. Add sour cream and combine well. Add the pudding mix and stir together (mixture will be a little lumpy). Clean and slice the strawberries. Peel and slice the kiwi and oranges. Reserve a few pieces of fruit to garnish the top. Slice the cake into 12 slices and then cut or tear the slices into 2 inch cubes. Place a layer of cubed cake on the bottom of a trifle bowl. Arrange orange slices standing up all around the inside edge of the bowl and then arrange the remainder over the layer of cake. Spoon about one-quarter of the whipped topping over the oranges. Add another layer of cake and then place a layer of strawberries around the inside edge of the bowl. Arrange the remainder of the strawberries on top of the layer of cake and then spoon another layer of the whipped topping on top of that. Continue the process with each type of fruit. Top the final layer of cream with a few pieces of each fruit for garnish. Cover with foil and refrigerate until ready to serve (up to 24 hours).
