Strawberries and Cream With Pound Cake

Using pound cake from the bakery and low-fat whipped cream from the dairy section makes this a quick dessert. Use angel food cake instead of pound cake to lower the fat and overall calories.

Ingredients

1 pint strawberries, fresh

4 slices pound cake, about 2 ounces each

1 cup whipped cream, light

2 teaspoons sugar

Preparation

Slice the strawberries and place in a bowl. Sprinkle with sugar and mix well. Cut the pound cake into 2 ounce slices (about a half inch thick). Place each piece of cake on a plate. Spread 2 tablespoons of whipped cream on each. Top with sliced strawberries and top with a dollop of whipped cream.
