Pear, Gorgonzola and Pecan Salad

Add cooked chicken to this salad and turn it into a main dish.
6 cups lettuce, mixed greens
1/2 cup nuts, pecans, halves
1/2 cup gorgonzola cheese
1 tablespoon vinegar, balsamic
2 tablespoons olive oil, extra virgin
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon pepper, black, ground
Place lettuce in a large salad bowl. Mix dressing in a small bowl by adding vinegar, oil, Dijon and pepper. Toss with lettuce. Separate lettuce onto 4 plates. Wash pears, cut in half and remove core. Slice each pear into 10 to 12 slices and divide among the 4 salad plates. In a small skillet, toast the pecans over medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring often, careful not to burn them. Sprinkle cheese over each plate. Top with pecans and serve.
