Comments

This is a great, semi-healthy dessert and fun for friends and family. It is casual enough to each around the coffee table. Other dippers to try are graham crackers and marshmallows, pineapple, peaches, and dried fruits as well. This is a fun family treat that serves 6 to 8 people.

Ingredients

6 ounces chocolate, milk or semi sweet

4 tablespoons caramel sauce, such as T. Marghetti apple dipping sauce

1 tablespoon milk, whole

1 pear(s), sliced

1 apple(s), sliced

8 strawberries, fresh

1 cup grapes, seedless

1 orange(s), seedless, peeled and sliced

1 banana(s), peeled and sliced

6 Skewers, or candied apple sticks

Preparation

Fill a medium sauce pan about halfway full of water. Bring to a boil over medium high heat. Place chocolate in a Dutch oven (or in a stove top safe bowl that will fit over the sauce pan of water without falling in). Place bowl over the boiling water. Break up chocolate into small pieces and place in bowl. Stir occasionally, cooking for about 2 minutes. Add caramel sauce and milk and stir until creamy. Arrange fruit on a platter, leaving room for 2 small bowls, one for the chocolate sauce, and one for the nuts (optional).Pour the nuts into a zip lock baggie, and crush with a meat mallet, rolling pin or bottom of a small pan. Pour the nuts into a small bowl for serving. Once all of the fruit is cut up and on the platter, pour the chocolate sauce into a small bowl and add to the platter. Serve with skewers or small forks for dipping
